Our lodge is situated 25 minutes inland from the airport. This makes it an ideal starting point for tours departing in the direction of Kandy (2,5 hrs), Sigiriya (3 hrs) and  the east coast (Arugambay, Trincomalee, Passikudah).

Entry formalities and health advice

Passport valid at least 6 months after the return date. Visa is needed before arrival, please visit http://www.eta.gov.lk/slvisa/.
There are no compulsory vaccinations, however medication against malaria in reserve is recommended.

Climate

Sri Lanka enjoys a tropical climate with only slight variations in temperature during the year. The best time to travel is from November until April to visit the south and from april to october, to discover the east coast.

Currency and additional expenses

The currency in Sri Lanka is the rupee, which is divided into 100 cents.(100 rupees = approx. USD 1.00). Traveller’s cheques, Uk Pounds, Swiss Francs, US dollars or Euros can be exchanged at the airport, in hotels or banks. Credit cards such as American Express, Visa and MasterCard are generally accepted everywhere except in small local shops. Beverages, snacks, etc. are particularly inexpensive.
